February is Valentine’s

February is Valentine’s, which you might have noticed as every store is draped in red and pink and hearts.  The pressure to do something for your loved ones is strong, be it a card or chocolate filled hearts or flowers.  It seems a little fake, when the pressure comes from so many commercial sources.  Then I came across this wonderful passage in a book I am reading, not a book filled with inspirational quotes or love languages, but a murder mystery, believe it or not:

“There were two words that bore clearer witness to love than any other, and which never, ever, became hackneyed: thank you.”

Powerful, isn’t it?  To say thank you to your loved ones?  Thank you for loving me, thank you for taking care of me, thank you for all you do for our family.

Thank you also to all the members of St. Johns.  Your love for Christ and for each other is a daily inspiration.

PS – The book is “Auntie Poldi and the Vineyards of Etna” by Mario Giordano
