It’s July already – can you believe it? Since the world turned upside down in March, time has gone by both slow and fast. Slow because all the “usual” is cancelled, and fast, because weeks go by sometimes without anything standing out to make them remarkable. But there are remarkable things happening around St. John’s!
- July 5th saw the start of in-person worship at St. Johns! This is the result of lots of work by the church staff and the Re-Opening Team.
- Johns is live! Thanks to the upgrade of our internet connection and installation of permanent streaming equipment in the Sanctuary, you can now view the in-person service at 9:30AM and the fireside chat services that we’ve been enjoying via Facebook at 10:45AM.
- Our new Chancel Furnishings have arrived! We talked about this way back in December, and they will be dedicated on Sunday, July 12.
- Although we are sad to see Pastor Campbell, Leslie, Lily, and Cade head out this month, I am looking forward to our chance to fellowship as we say our farewells. We’ll be gathering (at a safe distance) in the parking lot on July 18th
(RSVP here: https://sjlc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/206/responses/new) and at our in-person service on July 19th (register to attend here: https://sjlc.ccbchurch.com/w_calendar.php?show_navigation=1#events/5479/occurrence/20200719)
The big question is, what does the fall look like? Will St. Johns be back to “normal” soon? No one can even begin to predict what the future looks like. What I do know is that the extraordinary community of St. Johns will figure it out, step by step, with the help of lots and lots of prayers.
