At St. John's, we love to share with children the Good News that Jesus is our Savior!
Our Sunday Morning Children's Ministry focuses on loving and connecting with children so that they may experience the love God has for them through Christ Jesus. Its purpose is to help children connect with one another, caring adults, and Jesus. We want Sunday morning to be the best hour of every child's week.
To accomplish our mission, we must be child-targeted in our approach:
- We want St. John's to be a safe and fun place for all our children
- We value relevant teaching that is application-oriented to reach today's children
- We value intentional shepherding through our small groups, where we can model an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ
- We want to teach the Bible creatively in order to reach today's children
Cross Explorations is our Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry for children age 3 to grade 6! There’s something for everyone!
Preschool Explorers (ages 3-4): will meet in a contained classroom on the lower level. Our preschoolers will discover Bible stories through music, play, and teaching. Preschool is a great time to begin to build a lifelong love of learning.
Kid Explorers (K – 6th grade) will meet upstairs in room 307/309 and will be a mixed-style Bible learning experience—similar to a site-rotation program. Engage: welcomes kids and gets them excited about learning God's Word through music, drama, prayer and a basic introduction to the Bible story. Explore: In Small Groups kids will dive into God’s Word with Bible story learning, review, and activities. Express: will take students beyond basic learning with a variety of rotation sites that reinforce the lesson. With crafts, games, music, drama, and more!
Normally, our Sunday Morning Children's Ministry meets from September to the beginning of June. Children from age 3 through 12th Grade are invited to join us each Sunday from 9:30-10:30 am.
