Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre,
with the lyre, and the sound of melody.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD.
You are invited to participate in one of St. John’s vocal or handbell choirs. For more information, please contact David Leahey, Director of Music (firstname.lastname@example.org, 703-971-2210).
St. John's Singers
Singers of all abilities and experiences are welcome. The St John's Singers have a brief rehearsal before Sunday worship and sing regularly throughout the church year. This group focuses on singers who are unable to commit to a weekday evening rehearsal. A love of singing is all that is required!
Choir of St. John's
This group of singers rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm and sing regularly for worship and for special services. Music ranges from the Renaissance to the present day and is a little more advanced. No audition is required.
St. John's Handbell Ensemble
Rehearses on Wednesdays at 5:45 pm. The ensemble plays for worship once a month, attend handbell festivals sponsored by the Handbell Musicians of America, and present several concerts. Being able to read music is a plus, but not necessary. Substitutes are always needed.
All are welcome at any time! Our Children's choir is taught during the Sunday School Education Hour. The choir is split into two age groups: P3-K, and Grades 1-5. During our time together, we are able to teach songs and provide activities that help children grow in faith. The children will sing as part of worship throughout the year.
